Brand guide · Jounieh Souks, Lebanon

Kind of Bar

Coffee by day. Cocktails by night. One room, two lives — and a brand system that turns with the light.

The idea

One place, two moods

Kind of Bar is an all-day lounge in the old souks of Jounieh — vaulted stone, black steel, terrazzo, and leather. The brand works the way the room does: the same bones, lit two ways. Every layout, post, and menu picks a mode first.

Day · The café

Sunlight on paper

Cream ground, terracotta accents, ink text. Airy spacing, daylight photography, coffee on the counter. Use for morning posts, the food menu, and anything printed.

Night · The bar

Pendants against stone

Espresso ground — deep coffee, never pure black — with amber glow accents and cream text. Use for evening posts, the cocktail list, and event announcements.

Palette · Click any card to copy its hex

Six colors, all from the room

The two brand colors are sampled directly from the logo. The other four come from the space itself. Print values are CMYK approximations — proof before a full run.

Typography

A serif with manners, a sans with posture

Both faces are free Google Fonts — available on the web, in Figma, and in Canva, so the same voice carries from the website to a story post to a printed menu.

Fraunces · Display — headings, dish names, big statements

Kind of Bar, from sunrise to last call

— and everything in italic tastes a little sweeter.

AaH1 · 48 AaH2 · 36 AaH3 · 24 AaMenu item · 19
Jost · Sans — body text, captions, buttons

Body text runs light and roomy, the way the tables are set. Descriptions, captions, and directions all use Jost — never the serif.

Wide-tracked uppercase is the tagline voice

The logo

Two logos, one branch

The coffee branch is the mark. The terracotta block is the canonical logo; the paper version carries light layouts. The no-tagline variant serves avatars and anything under 64 px wide.

Do

  • Keep clear space equal to the height of the “K” on all sides
  • Place on cream, paper, terracotta, or espresso grounds
  • Use the no-tagline variant below 120 px wide
  • Over photos, sit the logo on a cream or espresso scrim first

Don’t

  • Stretch, rotate, or add effects to the logotype
  • Recolor the logo outside the six brand colors
  • Place it directly over busy photography
  • Set the tagline in any face other than Jost
Shape & texture

The room, abstracted

Three physical signatures of the Jounieh space become the brand’s graphic devices.

Interior render: black steel frames and glowing globe pendants against vaulted stone, terrazzo tables below
The arch crop — frame feature photography in the vault silhouette.

Terrazzo speckle

The table tops. A sparse speckle of brand colors on paper — for story backgrounds and menu footers. Use sparingly: garnish, not sauce.

Pendant glow

The globe lamps. At night, one soft amber radial glow behind the subject — never more than one per composition.

Hairline rules & pills

The black steel grid, drawn light: 1 px rules divide sections. Buttons and tags are full pills — soft against the stone.

How the brand speaks

Coffee by day. Cocktails by night.

From sunrise to last call.

Your table doesn’t care what time it is.

Warm, not gushingShort sentences. Plain verbs. The room does the charming; the copy just opens the door.

Day / night pairsThe signature construction: two halves hinged on a period. Use it for launches, hours, and menus.

Local, lightlyJounieh is in the address, not the slogan. One Lebanese touch per piece — a knefeh, an arak pour — never a costume.
